virtual campaign “Toward Resilience in Disasters”

Coinciding with the World Disaster Risk Reduction Day, a virtual campaign “Toward Resilience in Disasters” will be held by a group of students and health experts in disasters and emergencies under the leadership of Dr. Arezoo Dehghani in Iran.

In 1989, the United Nations General Assembly designated October 13th as the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction (IDDRR) to promote a global culture of disaster risk reduction. World Day is an opportunity to recognize global progress in preventing and reducing disaster risk and damage. This year’s slogan of this day is “Fighting Inequality for a Resilient Future”.

The purpose of the virtual campaign towards resilience in disasters is to increase public awareness in the field of reducing the risk of disasters and increasing resilience, improving community engagemet and attracting the participation of politicians and health executives in disasters management (internal and external).

This campaign will be held virtually from October 13 to 20 with the release of educational and awareness-raising podcasts and videos, interviews and information in online mass media, etc.
